Children In Need 5th and 10th

Peter Davison is “my” Doctor, so this is great news. Its been hotly rumoured for a while, but its great to see them both standing together. And written by Stephen Moffat as well. Brilliant.

Before I watched the relaunch of Doctor Who, my main experience of the original series was with Peter Davidson. So to me, this is brilliant! Although its a shame they can’t do anything about the actor’s age.. Sigh, if only we truly did have a TARDIS… If only…

    Hmm… I’m having a paranoid 52 moment…

    Peter Davidson
    Fifth Doctor of Old series.
    5

    David Tennant
    Second Doctor of New series.
    2

Standing in the order that makes 5 to the left, and 2 to the right.

    52.

    It is a sign.

    :D That 52 gets everywhere

I grew up with Peter and remember his regeneration into Colin, so I’m really excited about this (even if it only turns out to be a 5 minute scene like the last Children in Need special - although I’m holding out hope for a half an hour episode).

Given that David Tennant’s on record as saying that Peter’s “his” Doctor, he must be getting a real buzz out of this :-)

I know that the powers-that-be have traditionally sounded quite against a multi-Doctor event, but I’d hope that if this is well received, then it might lay the groundwork to a bigger event. Perhaps during the gap year in one of the hour and a half specials.

Although saying that, I do also think that multi-Doctor events work best as an occasional anniversary story.

    Looking forward to this.

Wonder if they’ll ever be able to tempt McGann or Ecclescake back into the role for a multi doctor story.

How many fat jokes will tehre be if they get Colin Baker back (He’s bulked up a little)

Is it just me or is David havinga bad hair day in that picture.

  5. Alan says:

Best comment I heard about Tennant in that picture is that he seems to be turning into an anime character. Its so true :-D

McGann’s on record now as saying he’d be up for it, and given that the season generally needs a “Doctor-lite” episode to fit in filming of the Christmas special I think it’d be a great excuse to get some of the past Doctors back. I’d love an episode that starts with Doc 10 saying “Oh, I remember the last time I was here…” and it cuts to the TARDIS materialising and Paul McGann and India Fisher step out. They wouldn’t even need to rebuild the console room or anything if they did it properly.

Eccleston I’m not sure they’d be able to tempt back. He seems to be the kind of actor that prefers to constantly do different things. However, I wonder if he’d be up for a season of Big Finish audios if they got the rights.
