Man, its been ages since I posted anything Transformers-y.

TFW2005’s forums have some pictures up of the new animated Grimlock toy.

That’s a “must buy” for me. It looks brilliant :-D

I’ve been enjoying the new cartoon a lot. I was originally dubious as it was such a large departure from the “Unicron Trilogy” style that I’d gotten used to, but its worked really well. I love the re-invention of the younger Optimus Prime, who’s been drummed out of the Autobot academy and found himself leading this ragtag space bridge repair crew. Its really different to what’s been done before and its put a nice fresh spin on things.

Plus, as a UK comics fan, I love the fact that Ultra Magnus is in charge of the Autobots in this version. Can’t wait to see what his new toy is like :-D

I’d like to answer but I can’t deal with this right now.

Only kidding, just watched the pilot and was impressed. It was fun, the kid wasn’t too annoying. I also liked the way that, as a maintenance team, they don’t have guns really (Well, bumblebee has some sort of blaster) instead they mostly have lelee weapons (Like prime’s axe, nice fan nod) and so are pretty outclassed when it comes to facing decepticons, who are fully armed military units. Do we see more soldier autobots later?

Not yet. I believe Ultra Magnus and the Tick (sorry, Sentinel Prime) arrive on Earth as the show goes on though.

Its great for its high fun factor as you say. The only annoying character so far is Bumblebee, who really starts to grate after a few episodes.

The great thing about the show is the way it bigs up the Decepticons. The Autobots are largely screwed when they turn up and barely hold their own against one or two. None of the G1 “We’re winning…Retreat!” stuff here.

Noticed that, Starscream pretty much Pwned the lot of them until they discovered Teamwork.

I like teh idea that when a decepticon comes its like a bunch of brickies facing a fully trained member of the SAS.

Yeah. It was definitely something the show makers did deliberately. I think they’d specifically mentioned that there was no threat to the Decepticons when the Autobots trounce them every week, which is why they wanted to change things around, and make more use of human supervillains.
