Well, that was good.

Yup, Doctor Who’s fourth season the the ground running last night with the traditional first episode runaround. While I probably preferred last year’s season opener (to be honest, I think Smith and Jones has probably been the strongest opener to date), this one did the job nicely. It brought back in Donna, re-established her family (Bernard Cribbins was great - can’t wait to see more of him), gave us possibly the cutest monsters ever in the history of Who, and provided a tantalising tease of what’s to come with Rose’s shock reappearance.

Next week’s Pompeii episode looks excellent. And going by the blurb for the rest of the season, it looks like there’s something big to look forward to every episode. Brilliant
