Maybe its just the purist in me, but this looks horrible. Teen Tony just brings back long-supressed memories of The Crossing.

Whereas Marvel rules the roost in the movies, DC has tended to clean up in the animated market.  Admittedly this is a snap judgement based on one trailer, but I can’t see this changing things.

I mean what possessed them, its fair enough that they decided to follow a successful film with a cartoon, but why use kid tony? It only worked a bit in Ultimate Iron Man, is this the same “Kids only like stuff with kids in” attatude that got us the Thunderbirds film sans thunderbirds and Wesley Bloody Crusher?

Second, the animation looks like a cell shaded computer game, which I quite like when a game is going for a cartoon effect, but in a cartoon I want things to be a bit slicker.

Still, to be posative, the music is good.

  2. The animation looks the same as the Spider-Man cartoon series from a whileback (early 2000s), which actually worked better than you’d think.

But the kid-Tony idea has pretty much killed this for me. I can’t see myself watching it when it hits these shores.

Same here, like I said, what possessed them to do kid tony?

Worse, looking at newsarama they have a disturbing picture including a kid cap, kid thor and kid hawkeye.

Its like they’ve given up doing anything good

  4. Not seen that picture yet.

    Thank God.

They should just go all out and do “Marvel Babies”. Now that would be cool.

  5. Hm.
Combine that with another successful idea.
    And we have.
    Marvel Zombie Babies.
Now I’d pay to see THAT. xD

  6. Also.
Because you just have to view the horror with your own eyes.
    Kid Avengers.

  7. …Oh Christ.
    Oh Christ.
    Flash: Rebirth.
    Barry Allen is coming back? O_O;

  8. Ah, that Next Avengers thing isn’t as bad as I feared. The fact its a different team makes it ok by me. Its no Marvel Zombie Babies though :-D

Flash: Rebirth. I feel a more detailed post coming on, but I don’t think this is a big surprise given how they drove the Flash franchise into a wall during Infinite Crisis.

  9. Pie Man 70 says:

You realise with the number of permatations on Marvel Zombies Marvel Zombie Babies (Or MZB as the kids call it) is probably just behind Marvel apes in production.

WHo am I kidding, They’d never make Marvel Apes, its about as likely as a Spider-Ham one SHot.

  10. Besides, it’d just be ripping off the JLApes crossover that DC did years ago.

  11. Please don’t remind me about that crossover.
    The memory still hurts.

    xD

  12. The only good thing about it was that it had the Dark Flash in it. That was a great time to be a Flash fan.

I guess I can understand Marvel’s desire to go with a more light-hearted event after the last few years of Civil War, Secret Invasion and the like. But couldn’t they have used something that didn’t automatically remind everyone of a naff DC event?

  13. And now presenting, the idea that spawned them all…..

    MARVEL MUMMIES!

  14. That looks ace. Marvel Zombies are played out. Lets have a 6 issue mini of Marvel Mummies! :-D
