As I said elsewhere, I think this can be explained by Ms. Marvel’s confusing place in Chronology. Essentially, her own title is set some time after events in New Avengers, and indeed has been since the Secret invesion story finished.

Spider-Man was well written but then again Bendis was the main writer on Ultimate Spider-Man and indeed I’d prefer it if he was taken off Avengers stuff for Spider-Man.

SPidey’s Response to Wolverine’s Son “You’ve had sex?” is bettered only by Ares laughting at the sort of woman who woudl have wolverine. Note to non-comic readers, in the comics wolverine doesn’t look like hugh jackman.

ok ok ok enough with all this i gotta say after reading DA#1 AND 2 and then reading secret warriors and NA#49 i am very very mad about this. i mean not that mad but it was a promise for a battle and all i got was a batlle between the HOOD and new avengers DEFFINATLY NOT WHAT I HOPED FOR AS WELL AS THE REST OF FANS! i dont even think the avengers and dark avengers are gunna battle it out in the next NA but i gotta say it was a good comic because it was funny and cool expesialy the diss on ares and sentry about being sell outs lmfao! but im kinda mad at bendis for putting out the little flyer about dark avengers vs new avengers. if you havent seen the flyer look for it you will understand. PLEASE EVERYBODY WHEN YOU READ THIS TALK BACK TO ME ABOUT THIS BECAUSE I NEED OPINIONS!!!!

Actually, I think the anticipation, though annoying, was effective in that it made us feel with the New Avengers, who were expecting just what we were.

So yes, a little bit of a let down, but really, it was far too early for it.

I’m curious to see how long it’ll take the Sentry to turn against Osborn, though it’s looking more and more unlikely, with him killing on command and all. I remember him going after Tony during Execute Program despite their friendship, so I suppose as long as he’s been told what he’s doing is right, he’ll do it.

Did anyone ever catch the Marvel Knights Sentry? He’s vastly different character wise from the current version, and they played his history much better, especially in regard to the memory loss, both in explanation and execution. He was more the forgotten hero, the best of the all having to give up everything to save everything, and the Void being him was played more as being tragic than crazy. I actually preferred it over the current mad Sentry.

The Marvel knights was actually the introduction of the character, and was briliant. Great sense of mystery particularly in #1 where you were genuinely not sure if he was an old hero or just some dillusional drunk.

I’m still wondering what happened from the Sentry Avenagers issue in Secet Invasion, in that if you remember a skrull trick sent Sentry running away screaming, lats panel was something that looked like a sort of Sentry/Void Mashup in avengers tower to see lindy.

Wild speculation. What we’ve seen as the sentry post secret invasion is actually the void, returned once again and really screwing the Sentry’s name. We coudl have the guardians of the Galaxy or Nova find Sentry still huddled up in orbit aroudn saturn.

You know, I really like that idea.

And it would go a long way to explain why pulling someone’s head off didn’t mess him up even more.

To Robert, he’s probably unsure of what the Void’s position should be, now that the Sentry isn’t doing good deeds.

Having read the issue I actually thought it was very good. Ok, I know we were mis-sold a New Avengers vs Dark Avengers battle, but I liked Osbourne’s reasoning. He’s thinking of his team’s image, and the fact that out of the whole team only Ares and Sentry have actually teamed successfully (Yes, Venom, Bullseye and Moonstone were in the Thunderbolts but read the issues, they were a mess and nearly got beaten up by the Steel Spider) So does he want to take them up agains a team that’s been mostly working as a unit for a good while. Also, as he said, Iron Patriot being beaten up by Captain America, not good PR. So he sicks The hood on them, in the same way as he’s set a terrorist on Ms Marvel in her title and used the Thunderbolts to make him look good to Barak Obama. I quite like the idea that we won’t see the Dark Avengers fight other super-groups because there was public opinion that perhaps they spent too long fighting each other in Civil War rather than keeping an eye out for baddies. I’d hope to see him using his resources from the Cabal and the Thunderbolts to take care of opposing heroes. So basically despite the cover of the X-Men Crossover showing Iron patriot holding a broken cyclops above his head I’d only expect a DA/X-Men battle if Osbourne has managed to manipulate events to make the X-Men look bad.

I think this is why Osbourne is hoping for a few easy targets to start with. Hell he started the Thunderbolts on Jack Flagg and Steel SPider. Guess Morgana LeFay was not his first choice of baddie. As for slip ups, he’ll be running a hell of a job conevring stuff up, but this may be his undoing. WIll Bullseye Kill a byestander for a laugh, will Venom eat someone by accident? SImilarly he’s also avoiding fighting other heroes, partly to avoid his lot being beaten up by supposed renegades, but also to give the impression that his team are above such superhuman dust ups.

That would work, Osbourne doings ome sort of mad rant on beating everyone live on TV only to turn round and realise that in his moment of victory he’s shot himself in the foot.

If Ms. Marvel survives (grrr) Her last issue seems to be showing some problem with her powers due to the effort she put in during Secret Invasion. Songbird working undercover is interesting, will she be key to defeating Osbourne and as a result get a spot on an Avengers team making Avengers Forever come true? Probably not since we diverged from that timeline when wasp died.

Sadly if I recall the interview they specifically said Carol would die. It was pretty unambiguous.

I reckon SOngbird in teh NEw avengers woudl eb a good call, particularly if they’re going to be the ones mainly opposing HAMMER et al.
