Ok, I’ve ended up staying up far to late after getting sucked into Youtube videos again.   But here’s a good rocking Tenth Doctor tribute I found

I noticed today that my first Dr Who Music Video on Youtube has passed 1000 views!

Ok, so that’s not much in the grand scheme of Youtube, but still its a good acomplishment for me

Surprisingly my classic series tribute is also doing well, having racked up 270 views, versus my other new series tribute, which only has 94.   I say surprising, because the classic series one was the one I’d quickly cobbled together to test out an idea I had, versus the new series one, which I actually spent some time over.

Well, the clip I was working on didn’t quite work out.  I may go back to it and try and get it how I want, but in the meantime I’ve put two separate tribute videos up on Youtube.

The first is the one shown here earlier, only with the Harriet Jones voiceover removed (as it had been intended as part of the bridge between the two tributes).

The second is the rough cut of the classic series tribute I’d thrown together to see if it was going to work or not.

I’ve been working on this for the last week or so.    Its the second part to the new Doctor Who music video I’m working on, but I thought it stood pretty well on its own.   The intro might seem a bit odd by itself, but hopefully it’ll make more sense once I do the first (more complicated) half to the video.

Here’s a sneak peak anyway.  Hopefully I’ll get the first part done over the course of this week, but incase I don’t I thought I’d share this

Well, I put the finishing touches to the revamped version of my Doctor Who Music video today. All comments gratefully appreciated

Just for anyone that was wondering if I was still going to “re-spin” my Dr Who video

I definitely am, but annoyingly the Nero project file had become corrupted. Originally I’d figured that I could fix a few of the pacing issues by re-juggling the existing clips, but with the project file dead, it meant I’m going to have to rebuild the whole thing from scratch.

Something that hasn’t been helped by Nero deciding to become very unstable on my home PC, and crashing constantly.

As a result, I’m taking the advantage to look into getting a proper movie editing package. I’m on a budget, but I’m currently looking at Ulead Video Studio 11, and I’ve downloaded the trial to see if it’ll be worth getting.

I’ve spent many a night surfing through YouTube watching the various fan music videos for things like Doctor Who. Some of them I’ve really enjoyed, and so I eventually thought that instead of just sitting here critiquing other people’s work (in my own head mostly), I should really have a go at making one myself.

So here’s my first attempt. Editing obviously isn’t my strongpoint, and there’s bits I thought came together really well, and bits that I don’t think really worked, but none-the-less I thought I’d open it up for comments here before I decide whether or not I’ll bother putting it up on YouTube.

Its about 10Mb for the Flash version. I’ll make a higher res Divx available for anyone that wants it later on.
